Roy Vail Custom Mauser Sporter Rifle 7mm Rem Mag (R42787) DTX

SN: 5157. 1960s production 7mm Rem Mag with a 26" barrel. Custom Mauser rifle made by well known gunmaker Roy Vail. Vail was active from the 1950's to 1970's and was known for high quality custom work. This rifle has a half round, half octagon barrel with full rib. The walnut stock has a rosewood forend tip and is finely checkered in a fleur-de-lis pattern. The floor plate is engraved and gold inlaid with a game scene. The rifle shows some hunting marks and wear to the stock. The metal is very good with light wear. Has a Zeiss Conquest 3x-9x mounted. Overall very good condition. A classic example of a vintage custom rifle.(DALLAS LOCATION)
