NSN, circa 1830's, .75 caliber, 41.25" round smoothbore barrel marked "Y372-CROWN/W", above that mark you will find "Crown/F.W./D". Barrel and other metal parts are in the bright with pin-prick surface oxidation and discoloration noted. Lock plate is marked with "Crown/Potsdam/G,L" Action holds at half and full cock and has a strong spring. Stock has had a light varnish applied with a crack noted on the right side starting from the middle barrel band to the front barrel band. Many of these muskets were imported for the Civil War.
