Serial number 4268. Made in 1864, 44 RF caliber with a 24” barrel. The barrel has been refinished long ago. Markings all remain clear. Brass shows a darker patina on a frame that shows a fair amount of use. The left hand side of the frame is lightly scratched in “Sulpher/ Springs/ ARK” There also appears to be a name  written "STROUT" We did find three brothers who served with the 9th Texas Infantry Company F. and another who served with Askew's Co. E, Stones Regt. All survived and made it back to Pine Forest, Texas.
