Made circa 1850. 42 caliber with a 33” barrel. Nice sharp heavy Target rifle. This gun appears to have been relined at some point. The trigger guard and butt plate are classic schutzen style. The wood has some minor repairs. The lock is marked “Des Ponds A Morges” which translates to “The Ponds in Morges. Morges is a city in Switzerland. Pedersoli makes a very similar reproduction of a swiss target rifle called the “Bristlen Morges. A gun like this was clearly an inspiration.
