NSN, circa 1809-1813, .75 caliber, 39" proofed smoothbore barrel. Barrel and other iron parts are a dark grey patina with light pin-prick oxidation noted. Barrel is stamped with"G2883, lock plate is marked with Crown/GR, Broad Arrow/Crown" forward of the hammer. Rear of hammer is marked " Tower". Stock looks to have had replaced wood forward of large trumpet, expected nicks and dings are visible. Handsome Broad Arrow/ "B O"/"1831" is stamped on the leftside of the butt stock. Action holds at half and full cock.
