Colt 1862 Pocket Navy Conversion Revolver .38 RF (AC658)

Serial number 1972. Made in late 1860s. 38 Rimfire caliber with a 5 1/2" barrel. This gun has tiffany style grips made by Wexell and Degress whop was a firm in Texas and Mexico that sold guns and other items. The metal has been refinished during the period of use. The engraving is nice and sharp and the cylinder scene is very fine. The cylinder is a replacement. This gun is out of the R. Q. Sutherland collection and is pictured numerous times in the The Book of Colt Firearms by R. Q. Sutherland and R. L. Wilson. This gun has also been pictured in The Book of Colt Engraving by R. L.
