NSN, circa 1808-1803, .69 caliber, 41.75" Barrel and other iron pieces are a mottled dark grey patina with corrosion noted at the flash pan. Lock plate is marked "S.CT", barrel is proofed with "S.CT-SJ 1813". Stock shows expected wear from a Connecticut musket that saw service in the War of 1812, dings, nicks and scratches. Many of these muskets' barrels exploded due to poor powder, only 790 muskets were left serviceable after reproofing with proper powder. Gun is very good overall.
