Serial number 8191. Made in 1850. 44 caliber with a 7 ½” barrel. Metal has 98% of silver plated finish. This appears not be a non factory finish. This is an incredible rare experimental Fluted first Model Colt Dragoon. Only a handful of these were ever done. This gun was formerly in the John Parsons collection and was displayed at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. This gun comes with a binder of information along with it. It was sold by famed collector and dealer Arnold Marcus Chernoff in 1977 and has been in the same collection ever since. Very Fine incredibly rare gun!
