This Husqvarna Model 1867 rolling block rifle was clearly manufactured for presentation purposes as it lacks the standard markings of the Swedish military Model 1867 rifle. The only markings are a crown over H (for Husqvarna) on top of the chamber, HUSQVARNA on the left barrel flat at the breech, and an oval presentation disc on the left buttstock that has A.J.Dahlgren in script. The 37.25" round 12.7X44mmR centerfire cartridge barrel has a fine bore with strong rifling and frosting in the grooves. The barrel has approx. 96% blue with wear at the muzzle. It is equipped with a bayonet lug on the right. The receiver has approx. 50% of its case colors with an approx. .5" cleaned oxidized area on the right side. The hammer, breechblock, and trigger are bright. The bands are blue turning brown. The buttplate is bright with very light roughness at the toe. The buttstock is fine with a checkered wrist and light wear. The forend is fine with no cracks or chips and scattered light to moderate usage dents.  The swivels and cleaning rod are present. The action functions correctly. Note that the hammer has to be pulled back strongly to engage full cock. We have been unable to find any information on A.J. Dahlgren. Obviously, this merits further research. This great example of a presentation Swedish Model 1867 rolling blocck military rifle is ready for your European military rifle or presentation rifle collection.
