Made circa 1850. 38 caliber with a 36” barrel. Metal has a dark patina with heavy pitting. This gun is hide wrapped on the barrel just forward of the lock and at the wrist. This as done during the period of use and shows appropriate wear. Butt stock has brass tacks. This gun was made originally in percussion and has a drum style nipple configuration. Action does not hold a cock. This is a completely untouched, half stock hide wrapped Indian used rifle. Very fine plains gun!
