Framed typed letter signed by Theodore Roosevelt dated February 23rd, 1918 and addressed to U.S. Senator Ernest Lundeen of Minnesota. Lundeen and Roosevelt debated via correspondence about patriotism, free speech, and disagreement in a democracy. This letter addresses a speech Lundeen made and sent to his district voters. Roosevelt infers that Lundeens actions were constitutional, however they made him unfit for office. Multiple handwritten corrections were made to this letter by Roosevelt.
