Rare five pistol ensemble of Royal Spanish Miguelet lock horsemans size pistols. Each one is similar yet different due to Royal inscription on barrels.
Pistol No. 1 is inscribed on barrel "Cavar A del Cuerpo Del Rey" (Cavalry Body Guards of the King.), and has a silver inlay of the seal of the King (Seal of Aragon and Castiles). Below seal is makers gold sink (Bustindui); a very well remarked gunsmith. The stock has a brass inlay on the back with the Royal seal of Aragon and Castiles.
Pistol No. 2 is inscribed on barrel "Regim to De Caball A Del Principe" (Regiment of Cavalry of the Prince). Royal Seal of Aragon and Castiles on barrel and brass inlay on back of grip. Left side of stock has been fitted with a strong belt hook.
Pistol No. 3 is inscribed on barrel "Regim to De Caball A De Volunt" (Cavalry Regiment of Volunteers). Dated 1793 under the lock. Pistol is the model of 1789. Fitted with strong belt hook. Back of grip has Royal seal of Aragon and Castiles.
Pistol No. 4 is inscribed on barrel "Regim to De Caball A De Santiago" (Cavalry Regiment of Santiago). Royal seal of Aragon and Castiles on barrel and back of grip. Pistol is a model of 1789.
Pistol No. 5 is a Spanish officer's pistol marked "Regim to De Caball A Dela Reyna" (Regiment of Cavalry to the Queen). Makers sink in gold is Bustindui. Barrel is blued with gold lettering and gold flourishes. The buttcap is very elaborate with raised in relief figures of helmeted soldiers and bands of flowering leaf and vine motif. The trigger guard bow is a fanciful figure of a lion. The stock has relief carved floral spray behind the breech plug tang. The ramrod pipe has a relief carved figure of a grotesque mask with a ring pierced through the lower lip. This pistol also has a belt hook. A very fine pistol embellished fit for the Queen!
