Dated 1846. This gun was made by Ames in Springfield Massachusetts. 54 caliber with a 8 ½” barrel. The barrel on this gun has a gray to brown patina. Barrel still has visible inspectors marks. Lock has a brown patina. Wood is very good. There is some chipping around the lock. Action works perfectly.
