Springfield 1898 .30-40 Krag caliber carbine. Pre-war custom Krag Carbine. This is a unique job of customizing a Krag Carbine. Stock has a special knurled butt plate with engraved border outline. Pistol grip stock is beautifully checkered and forend is checkered as well. Pistol grip cap has a door that opens to a cavity for possibly matches or ...? Cap is inscribed "David E. Ranson 1933". The receiver has a Redfield receiver sight and barrel has a Banded ramp front sight. Receiver also has a Griffin & Howe quick detach scope mount at ring. Rear safety is beautifully knurled. Bore is very good. Fine pre-war gun smithing.
