Mauser 98 8MM Mauser caliber byf code rifle. 1944 production. It is in the L block serial range and has assembled as a Kriegs model. Matching serial numbers on the receiver, bolt body, bolt collar and cocking piece. The other parts are not numbered. The bolt was assembled with earlier production left over armories parts. The bolt body is eagle/1 (bcd), the safety is eagle/37 (J.P. Sauer), the cocking piece is Ch code eagle/140 (F.N.) The ejector box/bolt release is eagle/655 (Mauser Werke 1940 era). It shows mixed blued and phosphated parts. The stock has been lightly cleaned. There is one eagle/135 proof on the right side of the stock. Excellent bore. About 92% metal finish. About excellent overall condition.
