Colt 1860 Army 4 screw revolver. Made in 1862. This gun was made just at the tail end of the 4 screw guns. This gun is made from 2 different guns. The frame and trigger guard are from one gun and the barrel and back strap are from another. Often these are referred to as campfire guns as it is presumed the numbers were mixed up when two soldiers were cleaning their guns around a campfire. All parts have been together since period of use. Brownish to gray patina on metal. Traces of cylinder scene remain and the cartouches are faint, but present. The initials "H.W.H." is carved at the bottom of the grip. Actions work and gun locks up tight.
