French Tabatiere rifle. These were 1864 period conversions of French percussion rifles using and Enfield Snider type of loading door for metallic cartridges. These were used in the Franco-Prussian War of 1870. Condition is very good overall and is certainly better than most of the ones seen. Good stock cartouche. Excellent bore (about .70 caliber). Metal and markings are very good.
